The Women's Art Association of Hamilton is non-profit organization founded in 1894, whose purpose is to encourage excellence, to advance education, to promote the appreciation and development of the visual arts. The Association strives to stimulate communication among artists, educators, students, collectors, gallery and museum personnel, and all others interested in and involved with the creation of artwork. We want to bring a greater public awareness and appreciation of the visual arts. Application for membership is open to anyone interested. Members are entitled to vote, hold office, and enjoy all other rights and privileges as determined by the Association.

... I have seen many benefits for myself, and for the other members of these groups, in joining and becoming members. Many of the advantages require the member's participation ... I wanted to summarize and share with you 10 of the reasons why you should join a local art group. Here I am trying to talk to artists like me — either emerging, or straggling. So, with these benefits, and many other things we do, one day we will make it and not be straggling any longer!
